Jehoiachin (Coniah; Jeconiah)
(fl. 6th cent BCE)
   King of Judah (597 BCE), son of Jehoiakim. He ascended the throne at the age of 18 during the rebellion against Babylon. He was exiled to Babylon by Nebuchadnezzar, together with his family and 10,000 captives (II Kings 24:12ff). He was released during the reign of Evil-Merodach (II Kings 24-25; II Chronicles 36:8-10).
